Neighborhood Walks: Focus on Fabryczna | Tęczowa
Is Tęczowa still part of Fabryczna? Or has it become something entirely different? Join us for a walk where we’ll search for answers together and discover how this unique part of the city is changing.
During the walk, we’ll explore the history of Tęczowa Street – from the days when it was part of Wrocław’s industrial hinterland to its contemporary, dynamic transformations. We’ll be guided by the preserved fragments of old red-brick factories and the tracks that once bore the weight of intense industrial life. However, history hasn’t left tangible traces everywhere – in such places, we’ll use our imagination to sense the atmosphere of work in a railcar factory or the bustle of old marketplaces.
We’ll see how Tęczowa Street today bridges the past and the present – where new residential buildings meet the remnants of former industry. We’ll peek into courtyards, take a look at local businesses, gaze up at the architecture of 1960s apartment blocks, and look down at our feet – searching for details hidden in the street. We’ll walk along the boundaries of former housing estates and take a look at “Nowa Kolejowa” to better understand how the purpose of this place has changed.
