The Przeszycia Club- sewing discussion club

If :
- you have clothes that just need a few small changes to be wearable again…
- you want to learn hand-sewing techniques but don’t know where to start…
- you need the inspiration and motivation that comes from working in a group…
- you want to learn about the history of fashion, tailoring, and sustainability,
The Przeszycia Club is for you!
We invite you to the Pod Kolumnami Club, where, under the guidance of an experienced instructor and corset maker, Kasia Iwanio-Kozak, you’ll plan and carry out alterations, repairs, and embellishments on the clothing you bring. Along the way, we’ll talk about sewing, clothes, and their second (or another!) life. A different theme is planned for each month, but we’ll treat it as a starting point, because nothing sparks discussion like a digression.
The Przeszycia Club is neither a tutorial nor a workshop – the agenda for each meeting depends on you and the projects you bring! At every session, we go through all the projects brought in, and once everyone has a general idea of what to do, we can start the conversation.
Bring along the clothing you want to change, a rough idea for the alteration, and a good mood. If your idea requires specific embellishments or fabric scraps, bring those along too. In addition to basic materials and tools (needles, threads, scissors, pins, measuring tapes), we also have some haberdashery supplies, but they might not match your taste or the nature of your project. You don’t need any sewing skills.
Don’t expect a rigid structure or a stiff atmosphere – we’ll explore possibilities together and adapt our methods to suit them. Depending on your needs, we’ll tackle mending, darning, altering the cut, embellishing, or transforming items into something new. We don’t provide sewing machines – we focus on hand-sewing techniques.
We meet twice a month on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Exhibition Hall of the Klub pod Kolumnami.
Free admission! Due to the individual nature of the work in our classes, space is limited. Come join us and become part of a unique sewing community! Let’s give clothes a second life!
