Grafikwerkstatt: call for a residency in Dresden!
The 7th call for a residency for workshop graphic artists in Dresden is open now. Apply and spend four weeks in one of the oldest and most important graphic arts studios in Europe! A stay in the Grafikwerkstatt is an opportunity to develop your individual skills thanks to specialized equipment and work with the best artists from around the world.
Open call for this year’s residency of graphic designers and graphic artists specializing in artistic printing lasts for four weeks: from May 6 to June 3. The results will be announced on June 30, and your trip will last one month: from September 19 to October 22, 2022.
The residency in Grafikwerkstatt in Dresden is aimed at graduates of art colleges specializing in the technique of workshop graphics, living or working in Wrocław. The project is carried out as part of many years of cooperation between the City of Wrocław and the Sister City of Dresden.
In accordance with its terms, the selected artist will receive accommodation, work space in the Grafikwerkstatt and a diet of PLN 4,500 gross (including travel costs and purchase of materials).
What do we require?
→ completed master’s studies at an art university, specialization: workshop graphics;
→ communicative knowledge of English or German;
→ one work must been done during the residency, which will be transferred to the partner cities carrying out the exchange.
The application shall be submitted by the following documents in Polish:
→ CV (with an indication of the exhibitions and art projects carried out),
→ cover letter (in the letter, please present the issues and activities undertaken in your latest artistic work and the plan for an artistic residency in Dresden),
→ portfolio with a presentation of the main projects (max. 5 different works),
→ declaration of availability within the period 19/09 – 22/10/2022,
→ declaration of compliance with the information obligation on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data,
→ consent to participate in a survey examining the artists’ opinion on the cultural policy pursued by the City of Wrocław (optional).
Applications for recruitment may be submitted in paper form (max. A4 format) at the General Office of the City of Wrocław (Bogusławskiego 8-10 Street; room S4, ground floor) or via e-mail (email@example.com) by April 16, 2021 at the latest.
The selection of applications will be carried out by a jury consisting of artists and teachers of The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, a representative of the Wrocław Institute of Culture, a representative of the City Gallery in Wrocław and representatives of the Culture Department of Wrocław City Hall. We will know their decision by June 30.
