Following a multi-stage selection process, we are pleased to announce that Marilyne Grimmer has been selected from among the more than one hundred applicants who submitted their applications through the OPEN CALL for this year’s Magic Carpets residency in Wrocław.

Who is the French artist?

Marilyne is a visual artist and set designer whose practice combines storytelling, participatory art, and site-specific works. Her projects explore the emotional and cultural connections we form through objects—the small things we carry with us that hold memories of places, people, and a sense of belonging.

What’s the plan for September residency ?

During her month-long residency in Wrocław, the artist will collaborate with members of the Korean community. The project will take personal objects and the stories associated with them as its starting point. Through a series of meetings and workshops, a collaborative collection will be created, reflecting experiences of identity, memory, and everyday life in an intercultural context.

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Marilyne and thank all the artists who applied for this year’s Magic Carpets residency program.

The residency is part of the activities organized under the international Magic Carpets platform, which is co-funded by the European Union’s “Creative Europe” program and brings together more than a dozen cultural organizations.
