New year at AIR Wro – recruitment for support programs for artists begins

As part of the MagiC Carpets platform, we invite artists to participate in an international residency program organized in cooperation with the Korean community in Wrocław. At the beginning of February, we will also start recruiting for the next edition of Mobile Culture, a program aimed at Lower Silesian cultural activists who, thanks to our support, have been able to carry out their projects abroad for 10 years.

MagiC Carpets artistic residency in Wrocław

We invite artists to participate in a four-week international residency in Wrocław as part of the MagiC Carpets platform. The program focuses on research and social artistic practices based on dialogue and co-creation with the local Korean community. Participants must work in the medium of photography or related interdisciplinary practices within the visual arts. They should also be fluent in English.

Dates:
– Call for applications: February 2–March 15, 2026
– Announcement of results: by March 30, 2026
– Residency: September/October 2026 (4 weeks)

The MagiC Carpets residency is part of an international network of artistic activities promoted under the Creative Europe program and is in line with AIR Wro’s long-standing activities supporting artists coming to Wrocław and local creative communities.

Mobile Culture 2026 Program

At the same time, the Wrocław Institute of Culture has opened another call for applications for the Mobile Culture program, aimed at artists, curators, animators, cultural managers, and researchers from Wrocław and Lower Silesia. The program supports the implementation of international projects, including artist residencies, study visits, project presentations at festivals, conferences, art reviews, and networking activities.

Dates:
– Call for applications: February 2–March 2, 2026
– Announcement of results: by March 10, 2026
– Trips: March 16–December 10, 2026

Support: Winners may receive financial support of up to PLN 3,000 gross for travel and/or accommodation costs, and applications can be submitted both individually and in groups.

The Mobile Culture program is now in its tenth edition, having helped dozens of artists in previous years to undertake inspiring artistic and professional trips.
