The winter issue of the Wrocław Cultural Guide is now available!
Have you already visited all the places that appeared on the city’s cultural map this year? Or have you already had a chance to read about Eberhard Mock’s latest adventures? If not, in the winter issue of the Wrocław Cultural Guide, you will find a handful of recommendations on where to go, what to see and what to read in the coming weeks.

In the December-January issue, we bid farewell to a series that has accompanied us throughout the past year. Under the slogan “Wrocław Millennium,” we searched our collective memory for stories, tales, and anecdotes about cultural Wrocław in 2000. In the last article of the series, Barbara Chabior describes places where people used to hang out at the turn of the century (see pages 34–37). We will explore the millennial club and café scene during our meeting at Barbara on 9 December. Jan Chrzan will talk to the author of the text, co-founder of the iconic band Niskie Łąki, and Łukasz Głośny, the man behind the equally legendary Droga do Mekki.
And yet – life in general, and culture in particular, cannot be idle. With this issue, we are launching another year-long series. Exactly ten years ago, Wrocław was buzzing with excitement about a major cultural event: in January 2016, the European Capital of Culture was launched. To commemorate this occasion, each issue in 2026 will feature an article titled “Postcard from the European Capital of Culture.” The first one comes from director Piotr Łukaszczyk, who participated in the opening ceremony and other performances prepared for the ECOC (pp. 28–29).
And this is just the beginning. A winter classic of the Wrocław Cultural Guide has become a list of newly opened places that bring even more culture to the city – this year it has been exceptionally extensive (pp. 6–11). In the latest issue of our magazine, you will also find interviews with Michał Zadara about the Polish Theatre in Wrocław (pp. 16–17), about the premiere of Lovetown at the Wrocław Contemporary Theatre (pp. 24–26), and an interview with Anna Szpakowska-Kujawska about the exhibition of her works at the Museum of Architecture in Wrocław (pp. 30–31). Naturally, our calendar is filled with hundreds of events, to which we warmly invite you to attend.
Thank you for this year together. We wish you all a winter filled with culture!
