Cultural Spring? Only with the latest issue of the Wrocław Cultural Guide!
If you are looking for ideas for how to spend longer, warmer days, please read the April-May issue of the Wrocław Cultural Guide. Here, you will find not only plenty of news but also information about the well-known and long-awaited events.

In the spring, we are visiting new exhibition spaces in Wrocław: the Folta Foundation (pp. 34–35) and the New Pafawag Gallery (p. 30). The new director of the Wrocław Literature House, Katarzyna Janusik, discusses the institution’s upcoming plans (pp. 16–17). We are going through theatre repertoires and choosing seven fresh premieres (pp. 22–24). We are also visiting the new artistic event, the Wrocław Painting Biennale, organised by the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts (p. 18). In the latest news section, we can find the opening article in which Joanna Orlik, a vice-director of the National Centre for Culture, discusses the event that will visit Wrocław for the first time – the Forum of the National Observatory of Culture (pp. 6-9).
There is also something for those who are fond of well-known formats. You can read about the upcoming editions of the Jazz on the Odra Festival (pp. 11–13), Millennium Docs Against Gravity (pp. 26-27), and Showcase of the New Theatre for Children (pp. 32–33). What you already know is the Postcard From the European Capital of Culture, which is in the Guide for the third time. In 2026, it has been a decade since Wrocław was named the Capital of Culture. For this reason, together with the people involved in organising the year-long celebration, we look back at the most interesting moments. In this issue, we go back almost exactly 10 years to the day and reminisce about April 2016, known as the Lviv Month. A postcard from Lublin is sent by Rafał Koziński, who was responsible for the Ukrainian programme at the ECoC 2016 and who today is coordinating the preparation of Lublin for the European Capital of Culture 2029 (pp. 28–29). Another captivating story is prepared by Piotr Lis in Un-/Dis-Covered. Who is it about this time? See it for yourself, more information on p. 40!
