New Issue of the Wrocław Cultural Guide Is Now Available!

With the spring just around the corner, Wrocław is blooming with new cultural initiatives. Check out which events you cannot miss!

On the first pages of the February-March issue, we speak with Marta Falkowska and Jerzy Łanuszewski – the organisers of the first edition of the Wrocław Independent Comics Festival Underground Cats (pp. 6-9). Then, Marek Gluziński tells us about the new dance project he is curating – Choreotopie – at the Grotowski Institute (pp. 18-19), and Michał Pietrzak speaks about the second edition of the Review of Young Photography (pp. 20-30) – an event drawing attention to the directions young creators develop in. And for the first time in the Wrocław Cultural Guide, we have… a recipe. It is because of a new series about film and gastronomy at the Lower Silesian Film Centre: KinoZmysłów (CinemaSenses) (pp. 32–33).

In this issue we also share opportunities to celebrate the current events of the Wrocław cultural scene, some of which have been present for decades: we are touring sites relevant to the Art Transparent Foundation because of their 20th anniversary (pp. 34-36), going back to the unique moments over the Stage Song Review’s 50-year history (pp. 11-13), and casting our mind back to the beginnings of the 70-year history of the Wroclaw Pantomime Theater (pp. 24-25).

Speaking about anniversaries: each issue in 2026 will include a “Postcard from the European Capital of Culture”. Exactly ten years ago, Wrocław held the title of European Capital of Culture, and we, together with those preparing this year-long event, are looking behind the scenes. This time, Katarzyna Janusik is the sender – today she is associated with Wrocław Literature House, but a decade ago she co-created the ECoC’s literary programme (pp. 26-27).

As per usual, we also recommend checking our calendar of events, which includes hundreds of activities for February and March. Have a great early spring – culturally!
