Plan Your Summer with “the Guide”
Data publikacji:
This year, every corner of the city will pulsate with culture. If you doubt it, dive into the June-July issue of the Wrocław Cultural Guide.

To visit all the events described here, you need to get moving to places in the centre and those slightly further away. In Przedmieście Oławskie, there will be WROsound (p. 22) and the Mandala Performance Festival, which, in addition to “Trójkąt,” will be held in Szczytniki and Księże Małe (pp. 12-13). The SURVIVAL Art Review will uncover for us a new face of Plac Grunwaldzki (pp. 31-32), the Outdoor Circus Festival Cyrkopole – in compliance with the clue in its name – will take place in Psie Pole (pp. 34-35), and the European Night of Literature will take us for a walk in Borek (pp. 40-41).
Certainly, our summer issue will also include initiatives in the Old Town. Or, to be more precise, in the District of Mutual Respect, which is particularly important as we write about events encouraging openness to other perspectives and giving voice to minorities: the TAURON New Horizons International Film Festival (pp. 6-9), Simcha Jewish Culture Festival (p. 14) and the events of WroPRIDE held in the neon-lit courtyard of ul. Ruska 46.
On top of travelling to places, you can also travel through time. This issue of the Guide also includes the fourth Postcard from the European Capital of Culture. On the 10th anniversary of the ECoC Wrocław 2016, we go back to the most interesting moments of that time. This time, we go back to 25 June 2016, when David Gilmour’s unforgettable concert took place at Plac Wolności. The postcard is sent by Krzysztof Maj, who from 2012 to the finale of the ECoC was the chief executive of the organisational office of the European Capital of Culture. (pp. 38-39). And Piotr Lis takes us on a journey into a more distant past as he prepared a piece on the first researchers of Wrocław identity (p. 44) for the column Un-/Dis-Covered.
And you can expect that it is just the beginning. The calendar includes a hundred other events in June and July. May your summer be filled with culture!
